And so it came to pass that, for the first time, the weather was less than perfect. It got cold, and windy, and the more delicate of the women asked to move indoors, and so we did. It was still a lot of fun, although we could have used a bigger ring. Snow Hill Siren Bret D. (Peralta/Hughes) as Best Junior, and TNG & ZDAR Freedom Air Force One (Parsons/Riggans) as Best Senior and Best in Sweeps. And so we moved to Breed judging, with Ms. Karen Rockwell presiding. Our actual numbers of Dalmatians present and competing was 9 dogs, 6 bitches, 1 veteran dog, and 9 specials. There were 6 absents. Teresa Vila's Libertad Duque Encantado, a liver dog (Oh, Teresita, what has happened to you?) was Winner's Dog and Best of Winners. Ann Thornhill's Erin's Wildwood Magnolia, a liver bitch, piloted by Paul Rowan, was Winner's Bitch. The Breed competition was exceptional, with several nationally ranked dogs present and competing. Ch. Snow Hill's Fireflies At Rockstar (Fisher/Hughes) was Best of Breed, with Michele Markoff's Ch. Troika's Robin Goodfellow getting the nod for Best of Opposite Sex. It was the best group of specials we've had in the last few years.According to tradition, we had our post-show dinner at the clubhouse, where food, wine, and camaraderie mixed in a very pleasant manner. One can get used to this!
