It threatened for a while, but then the wind died down and the sun even made an appearance, so we were able to have our show outdoors, as is right and proper for a running breed.

Mary Dolde officiated the Sweeps, and chose her Best in Sweeps wisely, as the dog went on to Winner's Dog and Best of Winners.

As always, Margie spent half of the royal treasury on trophies (well, you see, they were on sale...) and our trophy table looked second to none. A very special thanks to her: she came all the way from Tennessee just to be there for the show and help with the dinner table decorations. She could not even stay for the festivities - we could use more people like her.

The dinner was, as always, pleasant, cordial, and lively. Thanks to Paul and Karen for attending to the food, and to the several people who saw to it that we had plenty of cheap white wine. And Suzy found very cute judges' gifts.

In addition to winning the Breed, Pam Fisher also won the drawing for the $100. prize. An embarrassment of riches!
